Finally. It's in the mail, winging its way to Amanda way other there in Spain. I was so excited today. Since I've never mailed a package internationally, the post office guy helped me through everything. He had my package while I filed out the address slip and other papers. He stamped and stamped and stamped and stamped. Finally, I looked up and asked why all the stamps? It's to make sure it isn't tampered with apparently. How curious.
Anyway, my first swap has been a lot of fun and I certainly hope Amanda enjoys it. I'm eagerly awaiting my package from her since she got hers in the mail on Saturday. Wow, this is going to be so much fun.
This past weekend, I kept my daughter's dog while she and the son-in-law had a weekend trip to Asheville, NC. Daisy is a sweetheart of a dog, part lab/part beagle; energetic, loving and goofy. But this weekend was different. She seemed to miss Abby so much more than any time before. This Asheville trip is one they've done each year for 2 or 3 years and each time before, Daisy has been happy and playful while they were gone. All she did this time was mope around and lie in her crate.
And our dog, Bandit, didn't help matters. He was such a bully. He stole her treats, splashed all the water out of the water dish, and just was a brat in general. She was so happy on Monday when they got here to pick her up.
Sunday was the Hubbs birthday. It was a quiet day. He's not much into celebrations and we don't usually mark our birthdays. He did ask me how old he was! Bless his heart, you would think he is ancient but actually, he's only 59. I'm older by 2 years.
We will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in October. This is amazing to me. We've been married over half our lives. We are settled and comfortable and I can't imagine life without him. I have a special treat coming from Fee at http://chippernelly.blogspot.co.uk/ and I'm really excited about that. I'll show you when it gets here.
The weather has changed. It is cooler. Yesterday and today, we have had rain and I've not as many windows open. I love the fall when I can open the windows and let the fresh air in. I sleep so much better at night and love hearing the night sounds. It's 71 degrees F here today and feels cooler because of the rain. Soon it will be time for sweat pants and sweaters and socks. Hmmmm, wonder if I can crochet some socks?? Another project, maybe.
I am back to work on the baby blanket for Jellybean. The baby is growing and already starting to be active. Abby sent me this sonogram last week:
I am so excited. They don't want to know what the sex is and I respect that. Either way, it will be grand. This is our fourth grandchild. I really didn't think I would ever have any at all. Isn't Jellybean beautiful?
As always, thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day wherever you might be.
Hugs,
Sharon
Oh yes indeed; Jellybean is beautiful! How exciting ;-)
ReplyDeleteStephanie, saying 'hello' from France.

DeleteAbsolutely thrilled for you.Gorgeous little jellybean! I am excited about the autumn swap too. Havent exchanged yet though.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne. This is my first swap and I'm so eager for Amanda to get her package and I am especially eager to get mine. It has been a lot of fun.
DeleteAw, my poor Daisy looks so lonely in her crate. She slept all the way home, when she wasn't worried about the rain. She's been her usual goofy self today, though.
ReplyDeleteGlad she is back to herself. I felt bad because she was so lonely but we did do some cuddling on the couch so maybe she didn't feel too bad. : )
DeleteJellybean is indeed beautiful! Looking forward to seeing the swap! Ada :)
ReplyDeleteSo it looks like you're eagerly anticipating more than one exciting arrival! :)
ReplyDeleteThe first time I mailed overseas it felt as though I were at the Post Office for an hour. But what fun it is to get a package from across the pond! Looking forward to seeing what's in yours.
Happy birthday to the Hubbs, and I'm glad Daisy has her family back again.
Great readiing your blog
