And the rain came down, down, down

Two solid days of rain here in Tennessee. It's dreary and wet and I'm not a happy camper. I have chosen to stay inside and not venture out in all the rain. I spent Monday resting up from the GA trip and aching from the rain. Today I have not had much achiness so I've "worked" a little bit, as in putting away laundry from Sunday and putting a roast in the slow cooker. The rest of the day I have watched TV, watched the rain and crocheted a little bit.

Good news! My son came home from the hospital today. He has recovered very well from the surgery and was only having to stay because of his INR levels. He takes anti-coagulant medication because of his artificial mitral valve and his levels have to be at a specific point. He had to stop the medication last Tuesday for the surgery and it was started back in the hospital the night of the surgery. It has taken this long to get the level back up to what it's suppose to be. He said he whined his way out of the hospital today. He has really, really missed his kids and I know they have missed him. I'm so happy the surgery went so well and that he's home and able to be with his family. He is very, very family oriented and his wife and kids mean everything to him. Happy days.

I have managed since coming back home to finished all the bowls for the stacking nesting bowls and have now started on the balls that go with them. The balls may take me longer than the bowls because they are small and slightly tedious, but that's just my opinion. I'm not good at small crocheted objects and tend to get bored easily with them. If I follow the pattern exactly, I will have to make 3 balls for each color per set and I've made 3 sets of bowls. That's a total of 54 balls! Good thing these aren't for any particular birthday or holiday. Who know when I'll finish these little things?

The colors are a lot more vibrant than the picture shows. But rainy day photos don't always show colors well, do they?

I hope you are having a wonderful day where you are. Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs,
Sharon

  2. Good to see you're home safe and sound again and your son is doing well. It's very cold here, lots of snow. Loving the colours of your bowls :) xx

  3. We got snow here! I was ecstatic of course. So happy about your son's surgery going well and getting home again! Sounds like you raised a very wonderful man.
I love your bowls and balls! They are so colorful and you are such a great crocheter.
I love that blanket you're going to make too! We could make it together (at the same time) if I can afford all that yarn. Did you buy it all new? Is there a color chart or are you just doing your own color choosing? I don't trust my color sense so when I see something I like I want to do it the same way so it turns out and I'll like it. I will be by every day pretty much now as I have listed my "daily" blogger friends that I want to visit every day and I have it posted so I don't miss out on what you're up to which is always so cool! Hugs...stay out of that rain for sure!
P.S. I started the Blackberry several times now! I had to count and recount for 167....and then the bobble stitch I have to learn now....looks like fun though once you get going with it.

  4. Hi Sharon,

Apologies for my lack of commenting lately, just still in the newborn fog down here. But I have been reading and been meaning to congratulate you on Jellybeans blanket - great job! I also love these crochet nesting bowls and have them on my list of things to make too. Very glad to hear your Son's surgery went well. Now if you could send some rain down here to wipe out these Bushfires that would be just wonderful. Enjoy the rest of your week!

  6. Hi Sharon, The nesting bowls are looking very nice. I am going to make a set too. But without the balls as the bowls are going to be used on my table. Aren't rainy days just dreary? I hate to venture out and at times like this I am so happy that I am now a stay at home mom. So glad that everything is well with your son.
    Love and hugs

  9. The rainbow bowls are really beautiful, Sharon. I have not tried to crochet a ball, but I bought a pattern for one. Almost finished my cowl hood today. Woohoo!
So glad your son is doing well and I hope you will feel better soon, too.
