Hello, all my bloggy friends. I hope Halloween gives you more treats than tricks. We have cold, rainy weather with temps predicted to be in the low 40's (F) to upper 30's for tonight. Poor kiddies. I hope they are dressed warmly.
Life on the Front Porch has been very slow and very quiet the past couple of days. My plans to spend a rainy Sunday in my recliner doing crafty stuff got sidetracked when I woke up Sunday morning with a very painful right foot. RA had reared her ugly head and attacked my foot with a flare. I got up only to go back to bed because of the pain. As the day progressed, the pain increased and I ended up not being able to walk on that foot at all. I spent the day in bed sleeping trying to avoid having to deal with the pain. Monday it was swollen and still painful but I was able to bear weight so I hobbled to the recliner and proceeded to do my Sunday thing on Monday.
Tuesday, I went for a desperately needed haircut since I hadn't had one in nearly 2 months. It was nice to get out even if the temps were cold but not nice to drive. My right foot is my gas and brake foot. OUCH! By the time I got back home, I was hobbling again and my foot has swollen out of my shoe.
The only good thing that has come from this is two whole days spent doing crafty things; crocheting, cross stitching and reading. Okay reading isn't crafty but I do enjoy it. And it was all guilt free because I couldn't do anything else. Now is that putting a silver lining on that cloud or what!
Anyway, it's late here and I'm off to bed. I'll leave you with a photo of my haircut. It feels sooooooo much better.
Thanks for dropping by. Have a great day and remember all the people on the East Coast of the US. This crazy storm has wreak havoc for lots and lots of people.
Hugs,
Sharon
I love the cut and you look beautiful! I hope you feel better soon :)

Hello Sharon, thank you for lovely comments on my blog - I'm still beaming!
ReplyDeleteI think your grey hair looks fab, let's hear it for Silver Ladies! I feel better about my hair since I stopped colouring it, and my other half loves it!
Sorry to hear about your ill health, RA is a sneaky vicious condition, I hope the flare up hhas died down a bit by now. Reading back through a few posts I see you have recently been diagnosed with asthma - if you are religious about using your preventer inhaler every day and night you will find you have to use the reliever inhaler less and less. People become complacent about the preventer and exacrbate their condition. (Ah y'see, once a nurse always a bossy so-and-so!) Yes, Halloween here tonight, and it looks like rain and strong winds. Take care, and don't ever feel gulty for spending time reading!! Lx
What a lovely cheerful smiley face. I haven't been to a hairdresser in.... about twenty years almost. I cut it myself, layering it and so on, just have never liked going to the hairdressers so I don't. And no, I don't look like I've been attacked by a shortsighted scissor-wielding mad person, I always got complimented by work colleagues, when I worked that is. Don't do that either now! Only things I like, for the most part. Unfortunately this month is one of hospital and medical appointments every week, now THAT I don't like.

You look great! It is always uplifting to get a haircut and style isn't it? Sorry you're not feeling well, my aunt has RA and she suffers terribly when it flares up. Take it easy, and enjoy your crafting!
ReplyDeleteYour hair cute looks nice and I hope you are feeling better soon. Enjoy your craft (and reading) time. :-)
ReplyDeleteI've missed out reading here as I was out of town. I am so glad the inhaling continues to help, but feel badly about the RA. That has to be so painful.
ReplyDeleteLove your new "do". I am finally getting my hair cut tomorrow. It has looked dreadful lately.
Sending love and healing thoughts, E.
Sorry to hear about your health problems, I hope they resolve soon. Looking forward to seeing more of your crafty adventures (even if they are enabled by bad things!) Feel better!
ReplyDeleteWe had a very chilly Halloween too - but trick-or-treating in our village takes place in the late afternoon, so the kids were all home by dark.
ReplyDeleteVery cute haircut! Hope that flare has been tamped down by now. At least you got some uninterrupted crafty-reading time out of it. :)
I hope your foot is better by now. When you are down for the count, at least you have crafty ways to entertain yourself and that's always a good thing. I've been in pjs all weekend. :) Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteOh ouch. Your foot sounds sooo very painful. Is it doing better now? At least you got to do some other things that you enjoy while you were immobile. Thanks for stopping by "Of Woods and Words." Very nice to "meet" you!
ReplyDeleteHope the foot is much better ... I've been doing okay since my last flare up, fingers crossed. Love the hair!
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon
ReplyDeleteYou're looking great in that photo with your new trendy haircut:-)
Very sorry to hear you're not feeling so good...hows the foot now?
I really hate going to the hairdressers but I do feel so much better afterwards. Its great therapy even if I do feel I am wasting my time....but the latter is all stress induced.
Look forward to seeing all your makes for the Christmas swap which I'm participating in as well but don't know my partner as yet. Fun Fun time again :-)
keep well
Amanda :-)
